Krishi Vigyan Kendra Pulwama is going to conducte 28th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting on 12th july 2025, aimed at reviewing ongoing activities and strengthening the linkage between research institutions and farming communities.
KVK/ETC Malangpora Pulwama in collaboration with department of Horticulture Pulwama conducted two training cum demonstration programs on training and pruning of traditional and HDP APPLE orchards. The programs were conducted at Ushmandar and Kangan villages of Pulwama. Scientist Fruit Science, Dr Jahangeer Ahmad Baba and Scientist Plant Protection, Dr Waseem Ali from kvk delivered the lectures on scientific training and pruning of orchards and later gave method demonstrations on pruning in both HDP as well as traditional orchards.
Krishi Vigyan Kendra/Extension Training Centra Pulwama in collaboration with Division of Animal Nutrition, FVSc & AH Shuhama organized the 4th phase of awareness cum distribution programme on MULTINUTRIENT BLOCK (MNB) supplements for ruminant Livestock at KVK Campus today on 19th November 2024. The programme was part of a continued activity carried under DAHD-NLM funded project “Sustainable livelihood improvement of resource poor farmers through livestock productivity augmentation by standardization and popularization of value-added animal feed supplements in Kashmir Himalayas”. The aim of the programme was to create awareness among livestock farmers about use and importance of MNB. Prof. & Head, KVK/ETC Malangpora, Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Ganie while speaking on the occasion highlighted the role and importance of balanced feeding in livestock. He thanked the Division of Animal Nutrition for their proactive approach in addressing the farmers issue. Dr. Yasir Afzal, PI of the project gave a brief introduction of the project and its importance in Livelihood upliftment of rural communities. He also gave a detailed lecture on the use and method of feeding of these MNBs. On the occasion MNB supplements were also distributed among 50 participating farmers free of cost. while giving the feed back farmers have also narrated how these blocks have improved the health and production of their animals and were in full praise for the joint efforts of KVK Pulwama and Division of Animal Nutrition, FVSc & AH Shuhama
One day training programme on “Climate Resilient Technologies for Sustainable Farming Practices in Kashmir Valley” sponsored by DST-HICAB organized by div. of Environmental Sciences, FoH, Shalimar at KVK/ETC Pulwama today on 13th November, 2024. The programme was presided over by Prof. Javeed Ahmad Mugloo, Head KVK Pulwama and was attended by Prof. Aijaz Ah. Lone, DARS-Budgam, scientists of this Kendra, village head, farmers and FCLA trainees. Prof. Javeed Ahmad Mugloo briefed the participants about Climate Resilient Technologies and its importance during present climate scenario. He also underscored the role of KVK Pulwama in empowering local farmers by providing technical guidance, high-yielding seed varieties, and modern agricultural practices to promote sustainable and profitable cultivation methods. Besides that Prof. Aijaz Ah. Lone presented elaborative technical session on the objectives and benefits of Climate Resilient Technologies for Sustainable Farming Practices in Kashmir Valley. Prof. Javeed Ahmad Mugloo underscored the role of KVK Pulwama in empowering local farmers by providing technical guidance, high-yielding seed varieties, and modern agricultural practices to promote sustainable and profitable cultivation methods.
It is pertinent to mention that through this training programme, KVK Pulwama is playing a pivotal role in strengthening the agricultural landscape of the district and contributing to the nation’s objective of achieving self-sufficiency in crop production
